THE STORY BEHIND HANDS OF THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST

The Hands of the Pacific Northwest is a movement centered around the lives of refugees in the Pacific Northwest, USA. We aim to close the gap between the reality of refugees and how they are understood within the community.

We discuss all issues pertaining to refugees. We want to give a voice to those that are often ignored in the strategic decisions that impact their well-being and interview other refugees and change-makers within the community in order to highlight the social-political issues affecting refugees and how to solve the problems they face.

Our podcast will focus on how refugees can come together to build a home and address racism and prejudice against refugees, immigrants, and POC. Above all, we want to aim at building a community where refugees can share stories, connect in meaningful ways, and get assistance with their settlement in the Pacific Northwest.

Beyond the podcast, we hope to expand into artistic endeavors, and music by launching "MALINGA", which means dance in Lingala my ancestral language, the digital space, and a festival where we shall share and foster cultural diversity through storytelling, music, and lifestyle.
